Hampstead Triathlon Club would like to invite you to take part in the first edition of The HTC Kona Challenge. In honour of the Hawaii Ironman in Kona, the challenge competitors will complete the Ironman race distance of a 3.8km swim, a 180km cycle and a 42.2km run in 4 days. You can complete the event in any format you want but in true Ironman style, you must finish with a run and with a big finish line celebration.
Aim to do all your cycling and running outside but if not possible due to logistics/time/bad weather parts or all your cycling and running can be done on Zwift or a treadmill. The date of the challenge is Thursday October 22nd to midnight on Sunday 25th October. There will be a prize for every finisher.
Giant Camden will also be sponsoring a prize for the best-submitted photo taken during the event so do not forget to ask your supporters to record your challenge. Please note that submitted photos may be used in social media posts by Giant Camden and Hampstead Tri Club.
Please ensure that all your activities are completed while maintaining safe social distancing. If you will be completing your bike section on the road, please ensure you keep yourself and other road users safe.
For those of you who want to tackle this challenge store ambassador Bianca is setting up a Zwift meetup for next Saturday and next Sunday where you can complete the distance if you wish to complete the 112 miles. You can then add 1-2 miles run to cross the line in the imaginary Alii Drive, it is epic!
We will notify entrants of how to submit their results and photos prior to the 22nd October.
If you have any questions please contact HTC head coach Dan Bingham here.
If you would like to join the meet up you will need to join (free of charge) our Team GC Zwift.
