Salary: £32,000-34,000 (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: 40 hours per week, on site, Tuesday-Thursday

Role Purpose
As the Assistant Manager, you are the bridge between the Store Owner’s vision and the shop floor’s daily reality. You will co-lead on the seamless running of store operations, inspiring the team to deliver a world-class, customer-focused experience that prioritises genuine rapport and technical expertise over ‘hard sell’ tactics.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily shop operations, including process flows with workshop repairs, customer consultations, test ride preparation, stock replenishment, inventory, etc.
- Ensure high-quality presentation of merchandise and store appearance
- Manage, motivate and develop staff including workshop manager and sales assistants
- Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses and sports organisations
- Liaise with third party suppliers
- Deputise for Store Owner as needed
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in bike retail, preferably management (at least 2 years)
- Strong, up-to-date technical understanding of performance bicycles and components
- Basic knowledge of Giant and Liv products (features, mechanical details, distinguishing characteristics, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Proactive, ability to anticipate customer and staff needs
- Customer service/rider focus
- Commercial awareness, with an understanding of profitability, stock and cost control
- Flexible, agile – a solution orientated mindset with a willingness and capability to help wherever needed
- Team player and inspiring leader
- Organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to manage operations in a complex and busy environment
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience using point of sale systems for sales, inventory, etc. (ideally Citrus Lime)
- Experience building ties with local communities
- Performance bike shop retail experience
- Experience working with 3rd party suppliers
