Monthly Giant Camden Liv Ride Out: Ashridge

Monthly Giant Camden Liv Ride Out: Ashridge

When
9 June

Where
Giant Store Camden: 8:30am

We are pleased to announce that our next women only Liv Ride Out from the Giant Camden Store is on Saturday June 9th meeting from 8.20am, and we’ll be riding up to Ashridge to the Brownlow Cafe where they serve the famous 'cream burger'!

We're going to travel out of London again from Kentish Town station – Platform 2 - and will start our ride by catching the 8.57am train to St Albans, then continue from there. The idea is that we will be able to avoid the higher traffic areas between Kentish Town and Barnet, and start our ride on smaller, county roads. We will work out the different groups on our way there, but we aim to ride in a few groups of 4-6 riders of varying abilities.

There is a moderate train fare of approximately £8.10 involved but I am hoping this will be a justified compromise for the benefits of riding on quieter roads. Single fare is £8.00 but a Super Off-Peak Day Return is £8.10 so it’s possibly best to buy the return ticket irrespective of whether you ride back or not, just so you have that option.

If you have a GPS device, we advise that you download the route in advance. The ride route will be provided closer to the time as well as details on what to bring, weather forecast and any other handy information. In total, however, the riding distance will be approximately 55-60km. Experienced riders can complete a longer route by riding all the way back to the store from Ashridge.

The return train departure time will be approximately 1-1.30pm for everyone else.

The ride is open to all riders who feel comfortable riding for a minimum of 2 hours with a minimum average pace of 18 km/h.

Please note that in the event of dangerous weather conditions we may alter the routes and distances accordingly. In the event of extreme weather where postponement may be an unfortunate necessity. We will do our best to notify signed up riders by email the night before.

See you at the store on Saturday 9th June!
